A principal with BAR Architects, Susan McComb, AIA LEED AP brings over 20 years of experience designing and planning a diverse group of educational, institutional, retail and mixed-use facilities. Since joining BAR in 1989 she has worked on a variety of housing and commercial projects located throughout the US and internationally that have incorporated significant sustainable goals for such clients as UC Santa Cruz, UC Merced, UCLA, Chico State –CSU, Presidio Trust, National Park Service, Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, Contour Entertainment and Walt Disney Imagineering.

A LEED accredited professional, Susan is committed to utilizing sustainable design practices and creating greater environmental awareness both within BAR Architects and to the broader community. Serving to advance internal ‘best practices” within BAR, she has been instrumental in leading BAR’s firm wide goal of designing projects to meet LEED Silver or equivalent criteria as a minimum and also has been a featured speaker at several sustainable design conferences. Susan has designed numerous LEED Certified and Registered projects and is currently working on the design of several projects targeted to meet LEED gold and platinum.
